“I have a very supportive family that keeps me going constantly. They always remind me why I want medicine when facing a difficult situation,” Pontsho said.

”I’m not from a very advantaged family, but the support I get from my family is excellent, and I don’t want to disappoint them because they try by all means to provide everything I need,” she added.

Pontsho encouraged all students who are struggling to gain admission to not give up and be ashamed but rather face their fears. “Upgrading your marks the following year is not a shame. It is way better than settling for any degree. Lift your head up and walk straight. You got this,” she said.
