Nine (9) young and exceptional Nigerians have made history in Canada after filling the entire Master’s Degree graduation list of the University of Calgary Law School, Alberta, Canada.
The Nigerian students including Oluchi Jennifer Chijioke, Maryam Wuraola Lawal, Ola Eke-Okoro, Toritsemofe, Emmanuella Uche Odum, Alexandra Mene, Ifeoluwa Tolulope Osunfisan, Ifedayo Isaac Olanipekun, Olaitan Adeniyi Oyekunle, and Olushegun Olayinka Tokode all graduated with their LLM degrees in the same set.
The Dean of the University of Calgary Law School, Ian Holloway, shared the information through a tweet on Monday. He said; “This is cool. We have 9 students graduation with their LLMs today. All are Nigerian!”
Dr. Gideon Christian, an associate professor at the University of Calgary Law School, pointed out that just because they are the only graduating students in their class does not mean Nigerians are the only students in the class. He noted that their class comprises of students from different countries across the world.

Explaining further on the 9 Nigerian students, Dr Gideo noted that they attended both their undergraduate and postgraduate study in the university.
“They attended both graduate and undergraduate classes with students from many other countries. The fact that they are the graduating students from the LLM stream does not mean that they are the only students in their class,” he wrote on twitter.
