Brilliant 18-year-old boy graduates US high school with 4.80GPA, sets record as school’s first Black Valedictorian

A brilliant 18-year-old  boy named Isaiah Gomez has made history as the first black valedictorian of Mary Caroll High School, United States after scoring an outstanding 4.80 cumulative grade point.

Isaiah made history as the first-ever black valedictorian of Mary Caroll High School. He graduated as the top of his class which earned him the overall best graduating student of his class.

He enrolled in several Advanced Placement classes which made him earn a 4.80 grade point average . Isaiah said he worked hard ignoring what people believe about African- American and made sure to accomlish the feat.

“But at the end of the day, I think it’s all in your head. It’s just a mind block that you have to jump over eventually,” he said.

Isaiah’s achievement also earned him recognition from the Corpus Christi chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

The vice president of the Corpus Christi Chapter of the NAACP, Thea Cain, stated that Isaiah’s achievement is more than being the valedictorian.“I am extremely proud of Isaiah Gomez for not only being the valedictorian,” Thea said.

”and first Black valedictorian of Carroll High School, for but also for being such an amazing leader and role model for our Carroll Tigers,” he added. Isaiah said that he hopes his recognition inspires other African Americans to work hard and accomplish great things.

“I feel like it’s a huge step for my community, my African American community, because I’m showing that this school has had a lot of African American students before, but in my opinion, it doesn’t really cater to them. They’re not really looked after like that,” he said.

Isaiah mentioned that he has been accepted into Harvard University where he plans to concentrate in molecular biology.
