An exceptional 17-year-old Nigerian-American girl named Oluwadara ‘Dami Adekeye has been accepted into 19 prestigious universities in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
Dami Adekeye who graduated from Brighton College in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates was accepted by 19 top universities across the United States and the United Kingdom.
Dami said she applied to a total of 20 universities and was accepted in 19 of them. some of the universities she was accepted to include; Yale University, Stanford University, Columbia University, and the London School of Economics.
Dami made history as the first Nigerian to be accepted into more than a dozen top universities across the world. She said though she loves playing violin and has a passion for music, she does not have a plan for her course of study yet.

“I’m very involved in music at my high school. I’m in three musical groups and I started a fourth,” she said. She added that she might consider doing a double major in International Relations.
“I’m still undecided but I might double major in international relations and economics,” she said. She achieved excellent marks in the 2016 General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE).
Dami scored 6 As in Spanish (which is a perfect score), Mathematics, Chinese (Mandarin), Physics, Chemistry, and Geography in the examinations and 4 As in Biology, English Language, English Literature, and Music.
She also passed the A-levels General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) in 2018 scoring 3 As in Economics, Mathematics, English Literature, and 1 B Chinese (Mandarin). Out of her many acceptances, Dami chose Yale University, Connecticut in the United States.
Dami is currently a Strategy Analyst at Bank of America, where she has gained experience in leadership, project management, and cross-cultural consultancy according to her LinkedIn. She is a cross-cultural connector with experience growing up in the UAE for over eight years.
She mentioned that she is interested in international economic development, innovation, identifying emerging trends, language learning, community engagement, mentorship, and music
In another story, a 17-year-old Nigerian-American boy named Akintunde Ahmad who graduated from Oakland Technical High School, United States with a 5.00 grade point average proceeded to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree by the age of 22.
