A brilliant lady named Onyinyechukwu Joy Onyewuchi who wrote JAMB three times has finally bagged a Medicine degree with five distinctions at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra in Nigeria.
Joy bagged her bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MB, BS) with five distinctions at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. She was the overall best graduating Medical student in the university.
Narrating her story in an interview, she stated that her academic excellence started in secondary school. After secondary school, she encountered delays for two years because she wrote her Jamb twice.
Joy said she had to write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam two times because she was not admitted to study her dream course which is Medicine & Surgery. She stated that during her waiting season, she got closer to God and believed in him more.

She finally got admitted to university to study Medicine and surgery. She said the day resumed in the school with the mindset of achieving academic excellence.
Joy said in her second year as a student, she excelled with two distinctions in Anatomy and Biochemistry. and in her fourth and fifth, she had distinctions in one of the most difficult courses which made her break a record in the university.
She mentioned that while in the university, she faced some financial challenges as her university education was sponsored by a philanthropist in her community because of her poor background. Joy said she did not have enough money for my upkeep, so she had to try some business in school.
Joy mentioned that she sold scrubs and lab coats, and was duped along the line. She said she left the business and started producing and distributing milkshakes and smoothies which was able to sustain her for her upkeep.
She stated that she never worried about school fees or hostel fees as she had a sponsor who was consistent with the payment. She attributed her success to her mother, husband, friends, and colleagues thanking them for their support.
Advising other students, Joy said they should seek God first, be diligent in their studies, and always stand out for God.
