A brilliant Nigerian lady named Success Ogbonna has achieved outstanding success by beating her colleagues with a 4.98/5.00 Grade Point to emerge as the overall best-graduating student of Adeleke University, Nigeria.
Success bagged her degree in Biochemistry from Adeleke University with the highest-grade point average earning her the award of the overall best student of the university’s 2022/2023 academic class.
Speaking on her achievements, Success shared on Linkedin that not only did she graduate from the university as the overall best student, she also won numerous award. She was the best-graduating student of the university’s Olusegun Agagu Faculty of Science.
Success was also the best graduating student in the Department of Biochemistry and the best graduating Female Student of the 2023/2024 Academic Session in the University. She also won the award of the Most Outstanding Student of the Year.

Success stated that behind the great feat, she also experienced setbacks and disappointments. She mentioned that seven years ago, immediately after she graduated from high school, she had laid out a well-detailed plan of how her undergraduate studies would go.
However, unlike her well-laid-out plan, she was delayed for three 3 years before she began her university program. Success said for those three years she watched life pass by as a spectator while her peers progressed which almost made her depressed.
Taking up courage from a lesson growing up that when one is faced with a difficult problem, one of the first steps to take should be figuring out a solution, not wallowing in self-pity or giving up.Â
”It is important to note that behind this great feat were set-backs and disappointments. I have come to understand the old adage, “Man plans, and God laughs”. And one thing I’m great at is planning,” she said.
Success said her academic journey was filled with challenges that ultimately shaped her which she highlighted. She said she learned the importance of flexibility, adapting to unexpected changes, and being open to different approaches.
She also stated that building resilience was crucial as she overcame setbacks and found the strength to start over. Success also realized the value of delayed gratification, choosing long-term rewards over short-term pleasures.
She added that consistent effort and perseverance were key to her success, as she discovered that small steps taken daily can lead to significant achievements. Success also said she developed a strong drive for excellence, always aiming to be the best in everything I do.
Success expressed her gratitude to God, Adeleke University, her family, friends, and everyone who has been part of the academic journey. She stated that she is ready to make a difference and positively impact the world.
