A 70-year-old African woman named Gladys Desbordes-Hill has graduated from Crystal Galaxy College of Aviation and Professional Studies in Ghana and was awarded the best student award at her graduation.
Gladys, a Ghanaian graduated from graduated from Crystal Galaxy College of Aviation and Professional Studies, Ghana with a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy. She was awarded the highest achieving online student in the university’s Advanced diploma.
She was awarded a certificate of honor and a meritorious award in recognition of her exceptional academic performance and active engagement in school activities, despite her old age.
Talking about her achievement, Gladys expressed her steadfast commitment to continuous learning adding that she is concerned and eager to contribute to global diplomacy.

“I’ve always strived to expand my knowledge in this rapidly changing world. The path hasn’t always been easy, but I’m grateful to have reached this milestone regardless of my age,” she said.
A lecturer at the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Kofi Appiah Bempong commended Gladys er strong desire to learn and her skill in understanding complex global issues, even though she faces obstacles due to her age and other responsibilities.
“Desbordes-Hill’s dedication to learning and her adeptness in handling diverse perspectives were truly commendable. Her legacy will endure not only in academia but also in the hearts of all who have had the privilege of knowing her,” he said.
Aside from her academic pursuits, Gladys is also a professional grooming and etiquette consultant, ranking among the top three fashion designers in Ghana. She is the founder of Special Grooming and Etiquette School, located in Ghana.
Through the Special Grooming and Etiquettes school, she empowers individuals to present their best selves to the world. Moreover, Gladys is also the visionary behind the Talented and ‘A’ Students Foundation, a platform dedicated to supporting exceptionally brilliant and talented individuals.
Gladys provides them with resources and opportunities to excel in their respective fields. Through her various endeavors, she continues to inspire others to pursue excellence and break barriers, regardless of age or background.
In another story, an uneducated 70-year-old man named Hadi Usman has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree in science by Gombe State University after inventing a stove that runs on water and other exceptional items.
Hadi Usman is a Nigerian man who never had any formal education but is equipped with exceptional abilities. He invented a stove that runs on water and a generator that operates without fuel.
