A 17-year-old boy named Ryland Dickman has earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Liberty University, Virginia, United States despite still being a high school student.
Rylan Dickman who is a student at Covenant High School, Chalrtesville enrolled in Liberty University, United States through the school’s online degree program and was able to graduate with a bachelors degree in Business Administration.
Rylan graduated from high school two weeks after he earned the bachelors degree. He said he is very excited abut the achievement as it shows that his hard work for the past years paid off.
”It feels really amazing. It’s like everything I worked for in the past two or three years, it has finally happened and I reached a goal that I wanted to reach, so that feels really great,” he said.

He said that despite his academic success in high school and community college, many universities do not allow students to enroll without a high school diploma but he is grateful to the Liberty University for giving him the opportunity.
“Unlike Liberty, not all the universities I looked into were willing to accept all my credits and CLEP exams, but Liberty was very helpful with that and due to my having an associate degree, they made the decision to accept me,” he said.
Rylan said juggling the two classes was stressful and challenging. He added that he was even discouraged by numerous admission officers about the possibility of graduating university and high school at the same time but he kept moving towards his success.

“There were so many points in the journey where I thought I wouldn’t be able to make it happen, because there were a lot of bureaucratic things that held me back at first,” he said.
However, Rylan said he had just what he needed to get into Liberty University, his associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College which allowed him to transfer to Liberty without needing a high school diploma.
Ryland said that he earned that degree during his sophomore year of high school. He added that even though it was kind of a hassle because they usually don’t let 10th graders in for dual enrollment.
Ryland’s mom, Latricia Dickman, told Fox News that though she was surprised her son was able to get into college before he graduated high school but she was not surprised by his achievements.”He is very determined and goal-driven, I think he was in fifth grade when he decided he wanted to learn to speak German. So it started from there,” Latricia said.
Ryland said he is now applying to law schools in Europe. He said he hopes tp get a school in Italy or Germany, where he plans to study to become an international business lawyer.
