A Nigerian Engineer known as Pauline Adetola has narrated how she bagged a Scholarship award to study Masters in Electrical Engineering in the United Kingdom (UK) despite having a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

Pauline who recently bagged a M.Sc Engineering (Electronics) from the Nottingham Trent University in England with distinctions narrated that she was discouraged from applying for the degree by one of her Undergraduate lecturer in Nigeria because her Degree was in Education.
Pauline Adetola attended Modibbo Adama Federal University of Technology, Yola, Northeast Nigeria, bagging a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Technology Education.
According to her, she approached her Head of Department for a reference letter that can get her admitted for a Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering at the Nottingham Trent University. Her HOD however declined her request telling her to stay in her lane of discipline that she would not be admitted for the program.

“my HOD told me to stay in my lane simply because I asked for a reference letter for my university application to study MSc Electronics Engineering. His reasons were “you would not be admitted“, her Linkedin post reads.
She however ignored him and went ahead to request for a reference letter from one of exam supervisor who granted her request and wrote the reference letter that got her admitted into the Nottingham Trent University for a Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering.
Pauline proceeded to apply for a scholarship award in the University and she got accepted for the scholarship program of her choice.
“I not only got admitted to Nottingham Trent University on a Postgraduate scholarship for my desired program, but every other university I applied to during my search offer me an admission. Today here I am grateful to God for the journey so far,” she said.
Pauline Adetola announced that she has graduated from her Masters Degree Program as an Engineer, bagging the highest grade possible in the University – Distinction and also getting the award of “Best Overall Performance Prize” for her hard work and performance.
“What God cannot do doesn’t exist”, she exclaimed.
