A 22-year-old lady named Joy Watson has emerged as the best-graduating student of Virginia State University, United States after she bagged two bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Engineering with outstanding grades.
Joy obtained two Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics & Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minor in dance. Aside from winning the award of the best graduating student, she was also awarded full scholarship to continue her masters degree in the university.
Celebrating her achievement on Linkedin, Joy highlighted all of her success while a student at the university. She said while a student, she served as the 94th Miss Virginia State University.
Joy also said she served in marching bands, student organizations, honor societies, fellowships, internships, and community service.

Joy said she joined the National Society of Black Engineers in her freshman year which was her first academic organization and opened a nationwide network. She said though the pandemic came, she continued virtually.
She said she went as far as serving as the senator remotely and later became president after they resumed back. Joy said she tasked herself with rebuilding the organization from the ground up and she revived it.
She also held the position of the 2023 Miss National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame, with her double major while maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average throughout despite all of the activities.
Joy expressed all of her gratitude to her sponsors charging them to continue, whether through donations, company visits, resources, internships, scholarships, community service, or anything you can think of.Â
Joy stated that she will be returning to Virginia State University to complete her Master of Science in Mathematics through a fully funded 12-month program by the university and once completed, she will be pursuing a PhD in Mathematics to become a professor.Â
