The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is plaesed to invite applications for the second edition of her essay competition 2024.
Entries are open to students at both secondary and higher institution levels. Apply now, show your writing prowess and be part of the winning individuals.

Eligibility Requirements for 2024 EFCC Essay Writing Competition
The following are the requirements for the 2024 EFCC Essay Writing Competition:
- Applicant must be Nigerians
- Applicants must be enrolled in a secondary or tertiary institution in Nigeria
- Participants in the tertiary category shall be accessed and judged based on originality of about 1, 500 words and their logical presentation of facts in the ways technological skills can be used to address social and environmental issues, such as developing Apps for healthcare or education, analyzing data for social justice causes, or creating digital tools for environmental sustainability
- Participants in the secondary category shall be assessed and judged based on the originality of about 1,000 words, clarity and aptness of the proffered alternatives to cybercrimes and how young people can channel their energy and creativity into positive online pursuits, such as digital art, music, writing, or entrepreneurship.

- Winner: N800,000 Eight Hundred Thousand Naira
- First runner up=N500,000 Five Hundred Thousand Naira

How to Apply for 2024 EFCC Essay Competition (Step by Step)
To apply for the 2024 EFCC Essay Competition, interested and qualified applicants should;
- Draft, edit, and proofread your essay to meet the requirements stated above
- All Entries to be sent to: info@efcc.gov.ng
- Submissions to start from Thursday, August 8, 2024 to Monday, September 9, 2024, Winners shall be invited during the Cybercrime Summit tentatively scheduled for October 2024.
- Six winners in Nigeria (three each from secondary and tertiary category) shall be invited to Abuja for the presentation of the award.
Note:
- All Ai-assisted entries would be disqualified.
- Children and wards of EFCC personnel are not eligible to participate
