Are you owning a startup less than 3 years old or pioneering with a business idea to develop? If so, the TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge is for you!
The Startupper of the year Challenge by TotalEnergies is back in 32 African countries for a special edition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Company!
The aim of this edition of the program is to support and encourage young African entrepreneurs to innovate and bring their projects to reality in their country of application.
All business creation project holders and owners of startups under 3 years old with a positive impact on their communities and/or the planet can participate!

Requirements for TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge 2024
To apply for the TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge, interested applicants must;
- be young African entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35.
- be a pioneer with a project or a startup that can make a difference in your country
- own a startup under 3 years old with registration in the application country no earlier than April 30, 2020
- be a resident of the country where you apply
- own a startup that could be developed a few months after the challenge
- All business creation’s project holders and young innovative startups with a positive impact on their communities and the planet can participate!

- North Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia)
- West Africa (Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo)
- Central Africa (Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo)
- East Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Reunion Island-Mayotte Island, Madagascar, Uganda, Tanzania)
- Austral Africa (South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe)
Benefits of TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge
The TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge will reward 100 entrepreneurs from across the continent with;
- N8,000,000 (Eight Million Naira) Financial Support
- Personalized mentorship support
- Promotion campaign to enhance the visibility of their product
- Winners will also have the opportunity to promote their startups at an event (Date to be announced).
Award Categories for TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge
1 Winner per category will be rewarded in each participating country;
- Innov’Up Winner, awarded the best entrepreneur should they own a startup of less than three years or come with a mature business idea.
- Cycle’Up Winner, awarded to the best project relating to circular economy
- Power’Up Winner, awarded to the best project relating to the promotion, creation, production, and usage of sustainable affordable energy
- 4 additional Winners will be selected by an international jury in the Power’Up category
Evaluation Criteria for TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge
The assessment of the project entries will be made based on the following criteria;
- Relevance to sustainable development challenges
- Innovation
- Project feasibility and developmental potential
- Gender equality and women inclusion
