After suffering rejection, young Nigerian lady finally wins scholarship to UK university, bags masters degree with distinctions

Despite being rejected by a scholarship organization, a young Nigerian lady named Ifeoluwa Aboyeji, persevered and earned a master’s degree with distinction in the United Kingdom.

Ifeoluwa obtained her master’s degree in International Business with a distinction at the University of Chester, England in the United States. Narrating her story on Linkedin, she said the academic journey was both gratifying and rewarding.

She recalled applying for the United Kingdom Common Wealth Shared Scholarship but she was not accepted. Nevertheless, Ifeoluwa persevered and decided to apply again.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are jointly funded by the Commonwealth and United Kingdom universities. It cover approved airfare, full tuition fees, and provide a monthly stipend. For more information on how to apply, check HERE.

Fortunately, the University of Chester awarded Ifeoluwa a 50% scholarship to pursue her master’s degree in International Business. She earned a master of science degree with distinction.

”I recall submitting an application for the Common Wealth Shared Scholarship but I was not accepted. Nevertheless, the University of Chester decided to award me a 50% scholarship to pursue my Master’s in International Business,” she said.

Ifeoluwa expressed her gratitude to everyone who has helped her along the way, especially her family and friends, professors, and her personal academic tutor for their support during the academic journey.

Ifeoluwa also received a Bronze award for fulfilling her duties and core aspects as a Student Experience Representative at the Universiy of Chester. She said she is honored to have received the award, thanking the staff, students, and friends who made it possible.

In another story, a young African lady named Favour Peters has fought back successfully to graduate from the university with a first-class bachelor’s degree after she was rejected by five different scholarship organizations in an attempt to gain university admission.

Favour obtained her bachelors degree in in Disability and Rehabilitation Studies with a first class at Kwame Nkrumah University, Ghana. Narrating her story on Linkedin, she said she is excited to have finally graduated from the university.

She stated that after she graduated from high school she applied to five different scholarships and was rejected by all. Favor said she had to stay back a year to work menial jobs at the age of 16 to help her parents raise enough money to cover her school fees. Read more about Favor HERE.
