A brilliant Nigerian lady named Odunayo Akinlade has graduated as a first-class Electrical Engineer at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.
Odunayo obtained a bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with first class honors at the University of Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria, an achievement she shared in her Linkedin.
She also mentioned that she was inducted as a distinguished Graduate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). Odunayo said the academic journey was one of personal growth and transformation, fueled by a relentless drive to excel.
She said she went from a young girl with limited awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics opportunities, to have blossomed into a woman who defied all odds to become a trailblazer.Â

Odunayo said the accomplishment is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. Aside from academics, she also actively sought impact taking on leadership roles in various student organizations, leveraging her passion and skills to drive positive change.Â
She said through the platform she served, she empowered fellow students, fostered a sense of community, and championed initiatives that contributed to the growth and development of the university.
Odunayo mentioned that she also received prestigious scholarships and awards, including the BOVAS AND COMPANY LIMITED undergraduate scholarship awards, the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) award, and the Chevron Scholarship award.
She said she had the honor of representing the institution, faculty, and department in various competitions, winning hackathons and athletics events. Odunayo thanked her project supervisor for his support in completing his undergraduate thesis.Â
Odunayo also expressed her gratitude to her friends, colleagues, senior colleagues, mentors, and everyone who supported him throughout the academic journey. She added that their encouragement and belief in her were instrumental in her success.
Looking forward, Odunayo said she is excited to see what the future holds for her and is eager to connect with more professionals as she continues to explore more opportunities that align with her skills and aspirations.
She stated that she is committed to paying it forward by inspiring and supporting the next generation of STEM leaders, especially young women.
