Brilliant Nigerian man with a degree in Architecture wins scholarship to study Medicine in Russia, graduates with 5.00GPA

A brilliant Nigerian man named Olalusi Victor who has a degree in Architecture and was awarded a scholarship to study Medicine in Russia has successfully graduated from the university with a perfect 5.00 grade point average.

Victor earned his first bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology. Renowned for his exceptional academic prowess since high school, he has consistently excelled and achieved notable accomplishments throughout his educational endeavors.

He bagged distinctions in all of the subjects he took in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). He then enrolled in a pre-degree program at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA)  where he excelled and was the top student, securing admission to the university.

Victor graduated from the university with an outstanding 4.60 cumulative grade point and was the recipient of the Dean’s Departmental Award.

However, Victor realized after graduation that his true passion was medicine which made him apply to Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun Nigeria to study medicine.

In the Unified Tertiary Maatriculation Examination, he had a total score of 321 out of 400 to emerge as the best Science Student in Nigeria and was honored with the COWBELL/JAMB scholarship Award, faculty of medicine category.

He was subsequently offered admission to study medicine and Surgery at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria having scored the highest point in the entrance exam

Victor spent just four months in the university before he was awarded a Federal Government Scholarship to study medicine in Russia under the aegis of the Russian-Nigerian Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA), through the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB).

He said he faced many challenges when he arrived in Russia as reported by Risingafrica. He said he had to adapt to a new environment, culture, language, and educational system together with dealing with racism, discrimination, and isolation from some of his classmates and teachers.

He mentioned that despite facing all of these challenges, he did not let these obstacles deter him from his goal. He worked hard, studied diligently, participated actively in class, and also learned the Russian language and culture.

Victor excelled in all his courses, scoring a 5.0 grade point in every semester for seven years. He also took part in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, and volunteering and was recognized as one of the best students in the faculty.

He graduated as a Medical Doctor with a perfect score of 5.00 grade point average, making him the first person in the world to achieve such a feat. He was also the best graduating student in the whole Russian Federation in 2013.

Victor has also been honored by various organizations and institutions for his outstanding achievements.

He received an award from the Federal Ministry of Education in Abujaand commendations from the Russian Embassy, Ondo State Government, FUTA Alumni Association, and Nigerian Medical Association.
