A brilliant Nigerian man named Abdulganiyu Abdulrahman has broken the 49-year-old record of Usman Dafondiyo University (UDUS), Nigeria after scoring an outstanding 4.96 over 5.00 cumulative grade point average.
Abdulrahman was also the overall best-graduating student of the university’s 2022/2023 academic session .
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies with a first-class honors. Abdulrahman made history as the student with the highest cumulative grade point since the inception of Uthman Dafondiyo University in 1975.
”By Allah’s grace and permission, I’m highly delighted to inform you that I pulled a CGPA of 4.96/5.0 in the Department of Islamic Studies, UDUS,” he wrote on his Facebook.

Aside from being an excellent student, Abdulrahman was also involved in different extracurricular activities and was a member of notable organizations at the university.
He was the General Secretary of the National Association of Campus Journalists, UDUS Chapter, and the editor-in-chief at Vanguard Press, a leading press outfit at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Abdulrahman was also the Pioneer Publicity Secretary at the University Scholars’ Forum. He also served as the Deputy Editor-in-chief at Vanguard Press, and Convener at University Scholars’ Forum.
Abdulrahman also won notable awards while a student at the university. He was awarded one of the 20 most influential graduating students of the university by Vanguard Press. The award is based on student influence and impacts on the students, university, and community at large.
He also bagged the award of the Vanguard’s Man of the Year as he served the platform for five years. Abdulrahman also received academic excellence recognition from the Ilorin Emirate Professors’ Association.
Abdulrahman expressed his gratitude to his mentors, teachers, families, friends, teachers, professors, and associates for their support. He stated that he is thankful with the deepest sense of humility and happiness.

Yusuf Aminat bagged her degree from the Faculty of Law at Lagos State University, Nigeria with the highest grade point average which made her the overall best student of the 2021/2022 academic session.
