21-year-old exceptional Lady bags two bachelors degrees from US university within 4 years, becomes first graduate in her family

A 21-year-old exceptional lady named Amanda Belmar has bagged two bachelor’s degrees within four years at Ohio State University, United States, becoming the first ever person in her family to graduate from the university.

Amanda obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and another bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs with a minor in African American & African Studies at Ohio State University. She earned both degrees with a manga cum laude grade within four years.

Celebrating her achievement on Linkedin, Amanda mentioned that she is graduating as a first-generation college student (the first graduate in her family). She said her both parents immigrated to the United States from Jamaica and Grenada in their early teens.

”I have received TWO bachelors degrees, a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University, with a minor in African American & African Studies, Magna Cum Lade.,” she said.

Amanda was able to earn her degree through the Morril Scholarship program which awarded full funding for her studies at the university.  She stated that she fostered the most beautiful community in these last 4 years.

She expressed her gratitude to the Morrill Scholarship Program for believing in the essay that she wrote when she was just 17 years old and also for the opportunity to study on a full-ride scholarship.

Amanda also thanked her parents for sacrificing all they knew for her siblings & her stating that she cannot begin to repay them for all that they have done but with her achievement, she has started repaying.

Amanda mentioned that after graduation, she will be returning to the East Coast to begin a position as a full-time Human Resource Analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York, United States.

 

In another story, a 22-year-old American lady named Ashlee Burnett has beaten 58,000 contestants around the world to win the Chevening Scholarship which enabled her to earn a master’s degree with distinctions at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom.

Ashlee from Trinidad and Tobago in South America was awarded the prestigious Chevening scholarship to study for her master’s at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom.

She was part of the 2% of selected applicants out of the 58,000 applications to be awarded the scholarship. Ashlee shared her achievements on Linkedin stating that it is a reminder that the challenges in one’s journey can not stop them from where they are bound to go.

Through the scholarship, Ahslee was able to earn a master’s degree in Education (Policy and International Development) at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. She bagged the master’s degree with distinctions. Read more about Ashlee HERE.
