2-year-old genius boy teaches himself 4 foreign languages, solves math problems with the language

A 2-year-old genius boy named Isaiah Gyamfi taught himself four foreign languages and how to solve complex mathematics problems with the languages.

Isaiah, a Ghanaian started showing extraordinary intelligence at five months. His mother, Jazelle told Mirror that she noticed him enjoying learning one day when he was watching a video on her phone on YouTube.

Jazelle stated that realizing this, she decided to put on a video about Japanese numbers. She said Isaiah listened to the video repeatedly until he could recite the numbers continously.

Jazelle is an early childhood education teacher based in London who started creating a learning environment for Isiaah when he was 4 months old. She stated that she would put numeracy and literacy flashcards in their living room so he could learn through visuals.

“I knew then he was keen on languages, so I showed him a video in Spanish. His eyes lit up, so I decided to buy him Spanish flashcards; he absolutely loved these and would study them every day,” she said.

Isaiah has learned to count up to 40 in Japanese by himself in just less than 24 hours. With each day passing, the young genius would surprise both his parents when he pointed out the correct letters and eventually sounded them out using phonics.

“He loves that Japanese has a pattern. Once you learn numbers 1-10, it’s very easy to learn the rest. Japanese numbers follow a logical pattern, with a few exceptions,” Jazelle said.

“Because 10 (juu) plus 1 (ichi) is 11. Simply place the 2 words together and you’ll have 11. There’s only a few exceptions. It’s so cool once you get the hang of it,” she added.

He also practiced writing numbers and solving Math problems by himself. “I was first taken back and thought, did my eight-month-old just call out letters? I remember just laughing nervously but I was so excited and wanted to hear it again,” she said.

Jazelle said though she was first surprised and thought it was unusual, she was overjoyed and noticed that her son was also excited. She added that Isaiah enjoys having numbers in front of him and loves practicing alone.

She mentioned that Isaiah has whiteboards, and pens he uses to practice writing numbers every day.  “When I realized he was identifying numbers and letters I bought him a pack of sight words. I actually placed them in a drawer and thought he wouldn’t be interested,” she said.

”But I started reading them to him, incorporating the phonics, and he showed interest in this and would flick through them. A while after this I thought to see how much he remembered, so I flashed a card and said “what does this say?”, to my surprise he got each one correct!” she added.

Jazelle also mentioned that Isaiah’s teachers at school said he was always sitting with his classmates and teaching them numbers.

“She said his friends weren’t so confident, so Isaiah sat with them and would point out the numbers, asking them to repeat what he was saying,” she said. Jazelle said because other parents did not believe Isaiah’s capabilities, she began to document his learning through footage and share it on her Instagram page.
