A 25-year-old lady named Nobuntu Tsule with overcame a childhood filled with poverty, achieved success by bagging a Medicine degree at Walter Sisulu University, South Africa.
Nobuntu from Eastern Cape, South Africa obtained a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery at Walter Sisulu University, South Africa. She and her three siblings were raised by a single mother who worked at a retail store according to Women Africa.
She stated that her mother could not afford to pay for her fees and take care of her and her siblings but against all odds, she was able to enrol to study medicine at Walter Sisulu University in 2015.
In her first year at the university, Nobuntu said she lived with a friend who was also studying medicine and her mentor helped to buy books for her. Nobuntu said in her second year she managed to get a bursary through the help of the King Sabata Dalindyebo local municipality.

Nobuntu mentioned that in her third year, her mother stopped working but she managed to survive through the grace of God. She said while in her fifth year, she would go through some days with little or nothing to eat.
Unfortunately the same year, her mother was admitted to the hospital for a long period but instead of getting to her, she was determined, made sure to pray, and never lost focus.
She stated that she also experienced another sad predicament in her sixth year, she lost her father which made her fail her module.
Despite all of these challenges, Nobuntu graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Walter Sisulu University in 2021. She stated that she plans to become a Cardiologist later in the future.
“It could have been easy for me to throw in the towel but deep down I knew what I wanted to achieve. I took all the challenges and put them to God. It has always been my dream to be a doctor because I had always wanted the best health for people around me,”she said.
