Nigerian-American Lady emerges best-graduating student at University of York, achieves dream of becoming a Medical Doctor

A brilliant Nigerian-American lady named Olaniyan Oluwatito has bagged a Medicine degree and emerged as the best graduating student of the University of York, United Kingdom.

Olaniyan Oluwatito graduated from the University of York’s Medical School, England in the United Kingdom with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MB; BS).

She emerged as the overall best-graduating student of her set. She took to her Instagram to celebrate her achievement of graduating from the university stating that she is officially a Medical Doctor.

Oluwatito shared that the degree is the second bachelor’s degree she will be obtaining. She bagged her first bachelors degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.

”Officially Dr Tito  Valedictorian, 2 degrees hotter. God has been good, still a lil overwhelmed by the amount of love that was showered over me yesterday,” she wrote.

Oluwatito studied at the University of York as a Laidlaw Scholar. She said that becoming a doctor has been a dream she has always had since she was 12 which pushed her to pursue the dream when she saw the opportunity.

”It’s been a journey! They called me crazy when I started, I almost lost my mind during these 5 years but God is faithful to complete the work he started,” she said.

Oluwatito who used to work as a Financial Technology (FINTECH) expert said leaving a comfortable financial career was not easy for her but she believes the challenging paths can be more rewarding.

”Transitioning from the digital financial (transformation) industry to saving lives might seem like a drastic change, but it’s a change driven by my deepest calling and desire to make a meaningful impact on the world,” she said.

She said she will be merging her fintech background with her passion for medicine, stating that she is excited to explore creative ways to bridge the two worlds.

Oluwatito said she strongly believes the connection between the fields can unlock new solutions and opportunities, that will push both industries forward. She said she anticipates chasing dreams, facing challenges, and valuing the journey as a priceless treasure.
