64-year-old Real Madrid Coach, Carlo Ancelloti has been awarded an Honourary Doctorate Degree by the University of Parma, Italy for for his football achievements.
Carlo Ancelloti is an Italian professional football manager and former player who is the present manager of Real Madrid. He is the most decorated manager in Champions League history, having won the trophy a record four times as coach.
Carlo was awarded an honorary degree by the University of Parma in Italy for his contributions to the world of football as reported by Corriere dello Sport.
The proposal to award the degree to the coach was formulated by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and was approved by the Academic Senate of the University of Emilia. Â

The honorary degree was also supported by the Minister of Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini. He was honored with the degree not only for his football achievements but also for his human qualities.Â
He was awarded an Honorary Master’s in Sciences and Techniques of Preventive and Adapted Motor Activity to celebrate his 44 years in the football game. Carlo expressed his gratitude to the university delivering a speech titled ‘Football, a way of life’.
“Some will say that I have taken few tests; in reality, I have taken many and every three days I take more. I will say to my players ‘You can call me doctor’. The strength of football is not in the individual, it is in the group,” he said.
