A brilliant young lady named Rawletta Barrow who won a full scholarship from the Prestigious Rhodes Trust foundation has bagged a master’s degree in Law from the University of Oxford, England.
Rawletta Barrow is a Guyanese who moved to the United Kingdom to further her studies. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of West Indies, Cavehill in Jamaica.
She shared her achievement of bagging a bachelor’s in Civil Law (Oxford University Masters in Law) stating that it feels so unreal to earn one of the world’s most difficult postgraduate degrees in law.
”It feels unreal to say, but this little Guyanese girl is now the holder of a Bachelor of Civil Law with Merit from the University of Oxford, one of the world’s most difficult postgraduate degrees in law,” she said.

Rawletta stated that she matriculated at the university without knowing what to expect but was full of hope that things would work out for the best. She said her experience was one of doubt, uncertainty, and grief, and of readjustment, redirection, and self-growth.
She added that despite facing all of those challenges, she is glad to have never lost faith in God and in herself. She expressed her gratitude to her parents, family, and friends for their support and encouragement.
Rawletta also thanked her tutor at the University of Oxford’s faculty of law for providing an incredible learning experience. She thanked the  Rhodes Trust Foundation for not only funding her degree but for providing support in different ways.
Rawletta stated that her journey at Oxford University continues as she plans to pursue a Doctorate in Law (DPhil Law) as she looks forward to seeing what the new chapter holds for her.
