A brilliant 17-year-old boy named Micheal Brown has won a full-ride scholarship and 260,000 dollars worth of funding to study at 20 top universities in the United States.
Micheal Brown is a Houston Teen who graduated from Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, Texas in the United States. He earned acceptance into 20 top universities across the United States.
Micheal was awarded a full-ride scholarship from the twenty universities that gave him acceptance. He also earned acceptance from all of the eight Ivy League universities.
Some of the universities include; Harvard University, Princeton University, Northwestern University, Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University, Georgetown University, and Vanderbilt University all in the United States.

“It’s something I’m proud of because I see my hard work paying off, determination paying off, sacrifices paying off,” Micheal told CNN.
While at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, Micheal was an active student. He participated in the debate team, mock trial, and student government. He once wrote an essay “The moment I saw Barack Obama get elected.” with hopes of following in the Former President’s footsteps.
Micheal’s mother, Berthinia Rutledge-Brown, told ABC News that he wants his achievement to inspire other kids and that if they work hard and use their resources, they can do anything.
She added that she knew at an early age that he was ambitious stating that he had only had one B his whole academic career. “After sixth grade, Mike was in control of his education. He was focused, he knew what he wanted and he made his own decisions,” Berthinia said.
Micheal said he has connected with other scholars like himself at all of the top universities through programs like QuestBridge, Emerge Fellowship, and Breakthrough Collaborative.
The organizations help students from low-income communities connect with higher education opportunities. “For me, it’s important to highlight that I’m not the only student of color who is achieving,” he said.
Micheal said he plans to major in Political Science at the University proceed to Law school and then return to Houston to work in the community.
