The University of Pretoria is giving away opportunities at University of Pretoria FullMasterScholarshipsforAfrican Students, 2018. Scholarships are available to African citizens to pursue (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa.
This prestigous degree is presented by the Centre for Human Rights,University of Pretoria, in partnership with 13 leadingAfricanuniversities.
The University of Pretoria’s new Future Africa campus will be the place where Africa’s leading scientists and scholars from across the world and from a broad range of disciplines will come together to leverage the benefits of transdisciplinary research to address the grand challenges that face Africa and the world.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
The LLM/MPhil in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa is a unique programme to which 25 to 30 applicants from African countries with the following degrees and preferably experience in the field of human rights are admitted:
A degree allowing access to the legal profession (eg LLB or licence en droit)
At least an Honours degree in a discipline relevant to human rights and democratisation
Applicants must have excellent academic credentials and demonstrate human rights experience or interest. Women, as well as members of minority groups such as indigenous people, LGBTI persons and persons with disabilities, are to apply.
Applicants whose first language is not English are to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level by the University.
