An exceptional 13-year-old girl named Nasara James Dabo has solved 34 mathematical problems in 172 seconds, earning her a full scholarship to the university.
Nasara Jamed is a female junior student at Ideal College International in Kaduna Nigeria who solved 34 questions in less than three minutes to win a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) training.
The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is a global annual mathematics competition for secondary school students involving more than 100 countries across five continents. Prior to the actual contest, students from various countries undergo training to improve their ability to solve mathematical problems faster and more accurately.
Nasara reached the finish line with a total score of 145, ahead of 150 participants, by answering 34 mathematical questions in just 172 seconds (less than three minutes). She emerged in first place in the junior category.

Nasara was awarded a gold medal, stealing the day as the Olympiad champion. The Kaduna State government also offered to sponsor her remaining secondary education up to the end of her university education.
Recently, Nasara was presented with an honorary award for her extraordinary academic accomplishment. She won the award for emerging as the champion at the Mathematical Olympiad in 2022, showcasing exceptional giftedness, memory, and intelligence.
She received the award alongside notable personalities like Major General MNB Mamman, Professor Boniface David Kashina, Air Vice Marshal Titus Zwahu Dauda, Professor Tagang Aluwong, and Professor Simon P. Mallam (former Commissioner of Nigerian Atomic Energy and Professor of Nuclear Physics in ABU Zaria).
Nasara said her goal is to become a Medical Doctor adding that it will give her the opportunity to care for many people in society.
